In the last ten years, the Philippine Startup Community emerged as a source of innovation and entrepreneurship for the economy.
With the advent of the smartphone and the app stores that made it possible to widely distribute services and content, it was now possible for a team of Filipino technopreneurs to reach critical mass for their ideas. But that’s only one part of the equation.
For startups to grow and flourish they will need financing, mentoring, technical knowledge, business expertise and a community that supports them.
It was in this situation that QBO was born. A public-private partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Science and Technology, Ideaspace Foundation and J.P. Morgan Foundation, QBO has become a hub and a home for startup founders.
In this episode of Digital Transformation Thursdays, we delve into the startup space — to witness the travails and triumphs of the modern Filipino technopreneurs. We will traverse this community ecosystem with one of the key players, QBO, as our tour guide.
