In this digital age, it is important for everyone to have easy access to data services and information. However, our current policies and regulations are outdated and were only designed for basic telecommunication services.
Thus, access to the Internet in the Philippines remains an issue due to high costs and slow connections. There are measures and solutions being considered to address this. Among them is the proposed bill on Open Access in Data Transmission Act which aims to liberalize the information and communication technology (ICT) industry.
This bill aims to adopt an open access model which should allow more players to build and operate broadband networks, promote infrastructure sharing to lower costs and make network deployment more efficient, and make spectrum management more transparent. This webinar will discuss the solutions that will be offered through this proposed bill on Open Access in Data Transmission Act.
